Technical brief – Accelerating contraceptive uptake through post-pregnancy-care models in India

This technical brief provides findings and insights from a randomized control trial (RCT) conducted to assess the impact of the intervention under the “Saksham” project. The RCT, conducted between October 2021 and May 2023, revealed that the intervention significantly increased the adoption of modern contraceptives, especially in the 6th month after abortion. Recommendations include strengthening helpline follow-up and tailoring interventions for specific groups to sustain long-term impact.
