Yukti Yojana Featured as Best Practice at National Summit

Yukti Yojana, the Government of Bihar’s unique public-private partnership for comprehensive abortion care services, was showcased at the Third National Summit on Good, Replicable Practices & Innovations in Public Health Care Systems in India organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, in August 2016.

Ipas Development Foundation (IDF) has been providing technical assistance for Yukti Yojana since its inception. It was the only program in the field of comprehensive abortion care to be presented at the event.

Under Yukti Yojana, women receive high-quality, free-of-cost abortion care from accredited private clinics that are then reimbursed by the respective District Health Societies. The program complements existing public-sector CAC services in Bihar.

IDF’s onsite training model under our comprehensive contraceptive care (CCC) project was also featured at the event via a poster presentation.
